Raise your Vibration!

Raising your vibration is the key to happiness. Easier said than done? I agree, it can be challenging, but the benefits of keeping at it and never quitting is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. My go-to for raising my vibration is having a dance party for one. Below are five ways you can raise your vibration.

Five Ways to Raise you Vibration

  1. Amp your vibration with Gratitude. I know you have heard this probably a billion times before, but if you sit down every day and think about all the stuff you are grateful for, you will begin to see your outlook on life changing.
  2. Dance like you never danced before! Throw down some of your favor tunes and bounce around the room. Watch your vibrations shoot through the roof.
  3. Nature anyone? Going out and spending time in Nature is a sure-fire way to release the daily stresses and begin to feel better.
  4. Role play Elsa from Frozen and “Let it Go!” When this movie was popular, it was fun to mention Elsa and Anna around a bunch of kids because they would immediately start singing “Let it Go”. What a positive message the song presented, release the pain and don’t carry it with you.
  5. What are you consuming? Be conscious on how you feel when eat certain foods or watching certain media. If it does not feel good, don’t do it. For me personally, I don’t like to watch the news, I rather read it on the internet. This helps me keep up with current events without me feeling I am personally experiencing the current events.

There are numerous other ways to raise your vibration such as meditation, acts of kindness and yoga to mention a few others. If your go-to is not on the list, please comment at the bottom of the article and let me know what your go to is for raising your vibration.

Acts of Kindness

Kindness is a type of behavior marked by acts of generosity, consideration, or concern for others, without expecting praise or reward. Can random acts of kindness change the world? I think it can. Reportedly, one person in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada picked up the tab for the next car in line at a coffee-and-sandwich drive-through. This in turn inspired the next person to do to the same. The chain of picking up the tab for the car behind them continued for an astonishing 226 customers!

Health Benefits of Kindness

There are a wide range of health benefits with acts of kindness. Below are 10 benefits in being a part of an act of kindness:

  1. Witnessing acts of kindness produces oxytocin, which aids in lowering blood
pressure and improving our overall heart-health. Oxytocin also increases our self-esteem and optimism.
  2. People who volunteer tend to experience fewer aches and pains.
  3. Giving help to others protects overall health twice as much as aspirin protects against heart disease.
  4. People 55 and older who volunteer for two or more organizations have an impressive 44% lower likelihood of dying early. This is after ruling out every other contributing factor, including physical health, exercise, gender, habits like smoking, marital status and many more. This is a stronger effect than exercising four times a week.
  5. A 2010 Harvard Business School survey of happiness (in 136 countries) found that people who are generous financially, such as with charitable donations—were happiest overall.
  6. Stephen Post of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine found that when we give of ourselves, everything from life satisfaction to self-realization and physical health is significantly improved. Mortality is delayed, depression is reduced and well-being and good fortune are increased.
  7. The University of British Columbia commenced a study on a group of highly anxious individuals who were to perform at least six acts of kindness a week. After one month, there was a significant increase in positive moods, relationship satisfaction and a decrease in social avoidance in socially anxious individuals.
  8. Perpetually kind people have 23% less cortisol (the stress hormone) and age slower than the average population.
  9. Like most medical antidepressants, kindness stimulates the production of serotonin. This feel-good chemical heals your wounds, calms you down, and makes you happy.
  10. You’ll experience even greater joy if you’re creative with your acts of kindness. Happiness researchers Sonja Lyubomirsky and Kennon Sheldon found people who did a variety of acts of kindness throughout the week showed greater increases in happiness than those who performed the same activity over and over again.

Random Act of Kindness Story

Below is a story from Reader’s Digest on a random act of kindness.

My neighbor, Jim, had trouble deciding if he wanted to retire from the construction field, until he ran into a younger man he’d worked with previously. The young man had a wife and three children and was finding it difficult to make ends meet, since he hadn’t worked in some time. The next morning, Jim went to the union office and submitted his retirement paperwork. As for his replacement, he gave them the name of the young man. That was six years ago, and that young husband and father has been employed ever since. —Miranda MacLean, Brutus, Michigan

Activating Your DNA

When looking at the stars, do you wonder where you came from? Do you feel like you are The Little Prince and belong to stars? Maybe you should consider trying to activate your DNA. What would happen if you activate your dormant strands of DNA? I think we may be all surprise in what we discover.

Junk DNA

Though our DNA contains such large amounts of data, the majority of it is considered extraneous by geneticists who regularly study it. Some refer to this 97 percent of DNA as non-functioning, or “junk DNA.” However, is it “junk DNA”? Recent studies show that your DNA is a form of text. It is a DNA activation and the Linguistic Connection.

In Brendan D. Murphy‘s blog, it describes a team of Russian linguists, in the 1990s, led by Dr. Peter Gariaev who discovered that the genetic code in “junk” DNA follows uniform grammar and usage rules almost identical to those of human language. Within junk DNA segments, scientists have found large numbers of “endlessly repeated sequences with no apparent meaning, and even palindromes, which are words or sentences which can be read in either direction.”

This ground-breaking research followed Jeff Delrow’s discovery in 1990 that the four nucleotides (A, T, G and C) of DNA form fractal structures closely related to human speech patterns.

Then, in 2014 scientists at the Wyoming Institute of Technology, working with linguists and philologists from Bob Jones University (BJU) in South Carolina, made more linguistic breakthroughs. The scientists at BJU discovered that the language in the “junk” was indistinguishable from ancient Aramaic, and parts of the script it contained were at times close in composition to verse found in the Bible.

So the question becomes, what else is coded in our DNA? The only way we will know is if we begin unlocking it.

Unlocking DNA

There are several techniques we currently have access to in which would help us unlock our DNA. Some of the techniques include the following: meditation, Hertz Sound Therapy, utilizing crystals while engaging in Hertz Sound Therapy, ThetaHealing®. Also, there are step by step instructions on the internet to complete a meditation on the sole purpose of activating your DNA.

One day I hope the public will have access to utilizing scalar waves also referred to as Tesla Waves or Longitudinal Waves to heal our DNA. The governments have knowledge of scalar waves being use for healing since the 1960s. Several countries work on this technology even today.

Antoine Priore, who produced longitudinal scalar waves using a gigantic glass tube filled with plasma, has proof of the healing powers of longitudinal waves from the vacuum. The Priore team cured terminal tumors, trypanosomias, and other dread diseases in laboratory animals in France, in the 1960s and 1970s. The Priore project was funded by the French Government. He also developed a scalar blanket for the public, however, it has not been released. More resources should be allocated to utilizing scalar waves in the private sector as a healing module. Hopefully, one day this technology will be available to everyone.

Psilocybin Therapy

Trying to open the mind can be like opening Pandora’s box. Unlocking so many areas in our mind that may be blocking our progress in life can be tedious. Therapy, Mantras, Sound Therapy are all great tools in the battle to unlock our lives and yet is there a more efficient way to do this? The answer may be Psilocybin Therapy.

Psilocybin Therapy is basically a medical practice in which a predetermined dosage of psilocybin is administered to a patient (by a therapist) during a supervised therapy session.  It has the potential to relieve “existential distress” in cancer patients; break addictions to cigarettes, alcohol, and cocaine; and bring relief to people struggling with depression and PTSD.

There are numerous studies on Psilocybin Therapy have consistent results. A recent study published in November 2020 in JAMA Psychiatry showed that psilocybin-assisted therapy was associated with decreases in depression symptoms, with 71% of participants showing a clinically significant response at the 1-month follow-up, and with minimal side effects.

The results of Psilocybin Therapy have been so promising that psilocybin has received “Breakthrough Therapy” Designation from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), after evidence showed that it may be more beneficial than current treatments.

On a cautionary note, Psilocybin use can be risky. Please make sure to use this therapy with a trained professional.   Users may experience vomiting, panic, paranoia and potentially traumatic “bad trips”. “Bad trips” can last up to 8 hours. This is why the therapist is so important because they can help guide you through so you can effectively deal with what is in your dreamlike state of being. Also, if you’ve ever been diagnosed with bipolar disorder or psychosis, it’s important to steer clear of psilocybin.

Psychedelics like psilocybin are still under investigation, but they are a promising treatment that could provide another method to help individuals with alcoholism, drug dependency, stress, PTSD and depression. You should click on any of the highlighted text for more information on the treatment.

Mystical Moon

The Moon throughout history is steeped in mystery and legend. The moon is, in terms of distance, the closest heavenly body to earth. A Super Moon occurs when a full Moon is at its closest point to Earth. Then next Super Moon is Monday, April 27, 2021: “Super Pink Moon”. The name of the moon has nothing to do with its actual color. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the full moon is called the pink moon because it corresponds with the early spring bloom of phlox subulata. This is a wildflower is native to eastern North America. The Super Pink Moon is so close to the earth that you can identify basins and craters on the moon without needing binoculars.

Moon affects with a Magnetic Field Change

With the moon so close to earth, how does it affect people, animals and nature? The Moon affects Earth in several ways. The Moon’s gravitational pull, creates the ocean tides that rise and fall every 12.4 hours. The oceans are electrically conducting because they are made of salty water. As the tides flow in and out, they create a magnetic field associated with it,” says Robert Wickes, a space weather expert at University College London. This effect is small, but it is possible that this can trigger subtle fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field. In which some people might be sensitive.

A 2019 study in the Society for Neuroscience, found that when people exposed to magnetic field changes equivalent to those we experience in our local environment, they experienced strong decreases in brain alpha wave activity. So, how does this effect people? It might affect our sleep.

In another study by behavioral geneticist, Bambos Kyriacou, and his colleagues demonstrate that exposure to low-frequency electromagnetic fields can reset the timing of fruit flies’ circadian clocks. The fruit flies then experience alterations in the timing of their sleep. Studies have not been extensive on humans and their sleep patterns with magnetic field changes. Although, it may be safe to assume if other animals feel the effects that we should also be susceptible to the moon as well.

Moon Affects with Gravitational Pull

Getting back to the Moon affecting us with its gravitational pull. Humans are up to 75% water; they possess far smaller quantities of it than an ocean. So, can the water in our bodies feel the effects of the gravitational pull? Joachim Fisahn, a biophysicist, modelled the dynamics of clusters of water molecules within single plant cells and found that daily variations in gravity caused by the Moon’s orbit would be enough to cause a net loss or gain of water molecules from the cell. Apparently, the volume of water molecules, even if it is in the nano-range, will respond to any tiny gravitational change. Once again, studies on humans have not been conclusive. However, it is interesting to see even with tiny water molecules it is possible for it to respond to the moon’s gravitational pull.

The Four Elements

I was watching Frozen 2 and I have a confession to make. For the younger audience, it could be quite serious. I have to admit that I enjoy Disney’s Frozen 2 way more than Frozen. What I loved about Frozen 2 was the introduction to the elements: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Since 450 BC, these four elements were the keystone of philosophy, science, alchemy, astrology and medicine for two-thousand years. Yet, today we hardly speak about the elements and we often treat the idea as if it is antiquated. But, what if I told you they were still relevant?

The Greeks believed that the four elements made up everything and had an unchanging nature. They also believed that the elements were held together or pushed apart by forces of attraction and repulsion which caused the appearance of change. What is fascinating is that this resembles what really happens with elements and all molecules at an atomic level.

The Greeks also believed that the four elements described not only exist on the physical plane, but qualities of human nature. In fact, these four elements are a noticeable influence in Carl Jung’s Psychology Types and Myers Briggs Type Indicator. So, how do each of the four elements affect us individually?

Fire:

The element of fire has so many interesting meanings associated with it. In astrology, it means you are a Sagittarius, Aries or Leo. In alchemy or magic, it is considered a masculine energy and is associated with creativity, passion, freedom, power, vision, will, courage, and dynamism.

It is also associated with the Summer season and its corresponding direction is South. The symbolic portrayal of fire is a triangle pointing upwards. There are also a fire spirits associated with the element of fire, they are known as salamanders (as seen in Frozen 2). The salamanders inspire passion, new life, blessings, creativity and spiritual healing.

Now, in regards to science of the fire element in ancient Greece. As you know, the fire element plays an import role for changing a substance. Plato came up with the concept of basic chemical reactions. An example of this is that he concluded that when water is heated by fire, it produces two “particles” of air (vapor) and one “particle” of fire. This can also be seen in describing a person’s personality with a fire element as their astrology sign. This group is known for change.

Water:

The element of water also has numerous meanings. In astrology, it means you are a Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio. In alchemy or magic, it is considered a feminine energy and is associate with dreaming, healing, flowing, fluidity, purification, regeneration, stability, strength, change, death, rebirth, receiving, and unconditional love.

It is also associated with the Autumn season and the West direction. An inverted triangle is the symbolic portrayal of the water element. The water spirits that are associate with the water element are the naiads, sea nymphs, undines and sprites. These spirits are known for being able to cleanse, refresh, and renew our spirit.

As for the science of the water element in ancient Greece, in Greek Medicine, there was a healing tradition called the Water Cure.  The Water Cure was the common term for a collection of therapies, which used the healing virtues of water. This thought process also was reflected in the personality description of a person born with an astrology sign of Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio. This astrology group is also known for the ability to heal.

Earth:

The element of earth possesses many interesting meanings as well. In astrology, it means you are a Capricorn, Taurus or Virgo. In alchemy or magic, it is considered a feminine energy and is associate with prosperity, fertility, stability, orderliness, sustenance, creativity, physical abundance, nourishment, solidity, dependability, security, permanence, intuition, introspection, and wisdom.

Earth is often related to Winter and the associated direction is North. The element is symbolically portrayed by an inverted triangle with a horizontal line running through it. The earth spirits that are connected to the earth element are known as gnomes, fairies, tree devas and elves. The earth spirits provide grounding and attend to emotional healing.

Now for science of the earth element in ancient Greece. One of the downfalls for Plato’s theory is it does not allow for transformation of earth element into other elements. This fits in well with the personality portion of the earth element. In astrology, this group is known for their permanence.

Air:

Last but not least, the element of air. In astrology the air signs are Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. In alchemy or magic, the element of air is considered a masculine energy and is associate with communication, intelligence, perception, knowledge, learning, thinking, imagination, creativity, harmony, and travel.

Air is connected with the Spring season and its corresponding direction is East. The Air symbol is an upright triangle with a horizontal line going through it. The air spirits associated with the air element include devas, builders, zephyrs, and sylphs. The air spirits help calm us down as well as help us with focus and mental clarification.

In regards to science, the air element, according to Aristotle, is both hot and wet and occupies a place between fire and water among the elemental spheres. Aristotle definitively separated air from aether. This also coordinates with the air sign personality. The astrological signs that fall under the air element are great communicators between different groups of people.

I realize this was an extremely long article, but I was trying to touch on all aspects of the 4 elements. The 4 elements can be found in cultures around the world and are fascinating to read about. Unfortunately, I was not able to present information on the 4 elements from all cultures around the world for this article, otherwise this would be closer to a book.

Deep down, I know someone will ask about the 5th element. Not only is the Fifth Element an awesome movie, but it is also mention in the movie Frozen 2, when Elsa discovers that she is the 5th element. Over the centuries the 5th element has taken on a connotation of meaning spirit. However, for this article I am focusing on the 5th element also known as Aether æther, aither, or ether and also called quintessence.   Pythagoras and Paracelsus both believed that the Quintessence (5th element) is what the stars are made of and that within every living thing there exists a hidden star that was that thing’s Quintessence. Indeed, one of the symbols for the Quintessence is the star. What is crazy is I just wrote an article about how we are made from stardust. Since we are all made of stardust, we therefore all have a 5th element inside of us and it is then just a matter of time before we unlock our powers like Elsa.

Your Speaking Voice

I haven’t heard my voice in a while and decided to record it and play it back. I don’t know if it is just me or if this happens to other people, but when I hear my voice in the recording, it always shocks me. Mostly because in my head, I certainly don’t sound like the recording. This got me to thinking on how people perceived me because of my voice. When looking on the internet, apparently, people judge the tone of your voice and determine a great deal about you from it.

ScienceNOW conducted a study in U.K. which recruited around 60 undergraduate students and recorded them reading a short passage. Next, the researchers asked over 300 other students to listen to just the word Hello from the recordings and then were asked to give an impression of voice from just the word Hello. ScienceNOW reported the following, “Men who raised the tone of their voices, and women who alternated the pitch of their voices were rated as more trustworthy. Men with lower pitched voices were generally perceived as more dominant. But the opposite was true for women: Those with higher average pitch were rated as more dominant.“

Another study published in the Journal of Psychological Science had MBA students videotaped on why they should be hired. Then prospective employers and professional recruiters reviewed the various pitches. The result of study demonstrated that when it comes to first impressions on intelligence, your voice is more important than your looks.

It has been a trend for women to hire vocal coaches to help lower their voice. British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, even had elocution lessons to make her voice sound lower in order to sound more dominant, but then the public then felt she was less genuine. Another study was completed by the research team from Duke University and the University of California which showed that CEOs with the deeper voices managed larger companies and also made more money.

I find it fascinating that so much is conveyed to people just by your voice tone. I don’t think I will try to change my voice anytime soon. However, I am now inspired to go watch the movie My Fair Lady. Speaking of watching things, I also watched an interesting YouTube video by the GEM Goddess in regards to the speaking tone of your voice and how it is your dominant chakra. She utilizes the app ‘Cleartune’ in order to discover the tone of her voice. If you click on GEM Goddess it will take you to that YouTube video.

Attainable New Year’s Resolutions

Ever year I think about making New Year’s resolutions. This year I have not made any as of yet. I want them to be successful this year and not something I quit 3 months into. Below are the ways in which to make your New Year’s resolutions successful.

  1. It is helpful to get others involved in your New Year’s resolution. Either have the same resolution as someone else, or tell someone about your goal and ask the person to help you stick to it. Peer pressure works. Based on previous studies, it’s also helpful to put money on the line. Give money to a trusted friend with an arrangement that you’ll get it back at the end of the year only if you fulfill your resolution.
  2. Trying to adopt a new habit or introducing something new to their life has a higher rate of success. Resolutions about avoiding or quitting something were less successful. “For example, if your goal is to stop eating sweets in order to lose weight, you will most likely be more successful if you say ‘I will eat fruit several times a day’ instead. You then replace sweets with something healthier, which probably means you will lose weight and also keep your resolution,” stated Per Carlbring, a psychology professor at Stockholm University. “You cannot erase a behavior, but you can replace it with something else. Although this might be harder to apply to the resolution ‘I will quit smoking,’ which is something you might do 20 times a day,” Carlbring added. It might be possible to quit smoking by replacing it with bubble gum candy cigarettes. You still take the smoke break. You would then have bubble gum/candy instead of a smoke.
  3. Make sure your goal is achievable. Break down a large goal into obtainable segments throughout the year. This way you will not feel defeated after 3 months.

My goal this year might be weight loss. As always, I pack on the pounds for the Holidays and now need to work at losing the weight for the rest of the year. Hopefully, some of you may have more interesting goals for 2021. If you do, please share in the comments below.

Giving Thanks

November is a great time of year. The fall is turning into a hint of a winter wonderland. If you live in the United States, you may agree that November is typically associated with Thanksgiving. People at Thanksgiving will often go around the table and state what they were grateful for that year. The interesting thing about giving thanks is that it has been scientifically proven that their is benefits on focusing on the things you are grateful for. Below are 5 scientifically proven benefits of giving thanks.

  1. Gratitude improves physical health. Grateful people experience fewer aches and pains and report feeling healthier than other people, according to a 2012 study published in Personality and Individual Differences. Not surprisingly, grateful people are also more likely to take care of their health. They exercise more often and are more likely to attend regular check-ups, which is likely to contribute to further longevity.
  2. Grateful people sleep better. Writing in a gratitude journal improves sleep, according to a 2011 study published in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being. Spend just 15 minutes jotting down a few grateful sentiments before bed, and you may sleep better and longer.
  3. Gratitude improves self-esteem. A 2014 study published in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology found that gratitude increased athletes’ self-esteem, an essential component to optimal performance. Other studies have shown that gratitude reduces social comparisons. Rather than becoming resentful toward people who have more money or better jobs—a major factor in reduced self-esteem—grateful people are able to appreciate other people’s accomplishments.
  4. Gratitude improves psychological health. Gratitude reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert Emmons, a leading gratitude researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and well-being. His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and reduces depression.
  5. Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces aggression. Grateful people are more likely to behave in a prosocial manner, even when others behave less kindly, according to a 2012 study by the University of Kentucky. Study participants who ranked higher on gratitude scales were less likely to retaliate against others, even when given negative feedback. They experienced more sensitivity and empathy toward other people and a decreased desire to seek revenge.
