1942: Aliens?

1947 is the year of the Alien. 1500 Alien sighting reports did occur that year, including the Roswell incident. However, let’s take a trip down memory lane to 5 years earlier and review an incident that took place from late 24 February to early 25 February 1942, over Los Angeles, California.

The Great Los Angeles Air Raid, is the name given by contemporary sources to a rumored attack on the continental United States by Imperial Japan. Then when documenting the incident in 1949, the United States Coast Artillery Association identified meteorological balloons sent aloft at 1:00 am as having “started all the shooting” and concluded that “once the firing started, imagination created all kinds of targets in the sky and everyone joined in”.

First the Government states it was Imperial Japan and now the shooting started because of meteorological balloons? That night Los Angeles’ artillery batteries had pumped over 1,400 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition into the sky. It is very difficult to believe it was nothing more than meteorological balloons. Does the picture below look like meteorological balloons to you?

So, what did really happen? I believe Robert Sepehr’s YouTube channel with the recent video The People of Other Worlds discusses it best. UPDATE: June 25, 2021, A major U.S. government Pentagon report on UFOs released stated that the defense and intelligence analysts lack sufficient data to determine the nature of mysterious flying objects observed by military pilots including whether they are advanced earthly technologies, atmospherics, or of an extraterrestrial nature.

Ocean Mysteries

Do we really know what is in our ocean? Despite covering 71% of the planet, only 5% of the ocean has been explored. Despite all of these technological advances, there is still so much more to learn and explore. It is difficult to predict what space and ocean exploration will look like in the future. Which brings me to ocean mysteries. Since so little of oceans have been explored. Below are 5 fascinating ocean mysteries for you to ponder.

1. The 1968 Submarine Disappearances

In 1968, the following submarines disappeared without a trace: USS Scorpion, a French submarine Minerve, the Israeli INS Dakar submarine, and K-129, a Soviet submarine. Two were in the Mediterranean Sea, one was in the Pacific Ocean, and one was lost in the Atlantic Ocean. One of the four submarines was never found. The other three were found but the cause of their loss remains a mystery. Was this a Cold War skirmish? Hard to say because unfortunately, there is no actual proof.

2. Mariana Trench

Mariana Trench, also called Marianas Trench, deep-sea trench in the floor of the western North Pacific Ocean, the deepest such trench known on Earth, located mostly east as well as south of the Mariana Islands. It is part of the western Pacific system of oceanic trenches coinciding with subduction zones. Mount Everest stands at 29,026 feet (8,848 m) above sea level, meaning the deepest part of the Mariana Trench is 7,044 feet (2,147 m) deeper than Everest is tall. Due to the depth, much of the trench remains unexplored. Unusual animals live in the trench such as the Dumbo Octopus. It will be interesting to see what the younger generation will find as technology advances.

3. The Mystery of Atlantis

How could we keep Atlantis off the list? Over the years people have speculated where Atlantis once stood. Atlantis was first described by the Greek philosopher Plato more than 2,000 years ago. According to Plato’s account, written around 360BC, Atlantis was a major sea power located in the Atlantic. The arrangement of Atlantis was concentric rings. They alternated water and land. The soil was perfect, the architecture was magnificent and the work of the engineers was successful. There was an extraordinary irrigation system. Atlantis had an organized military system as well as many kings. To all of those looking in from the outside, it seemed as if Atlantis was paradise. Theories of the location include the Minoan civilization on Crete and the neighboring island of Santorini or the Black Sea floods of around 5000BC – an event that may have also generated the flood stories which appeared in the Old Testament.

My favorite theory is the Eye of the Sahara (Richat Structure). Africa, prior to the Younger Dryas climate change, has pollen records from this area which show that a “green” state prevailed during most of the time between 14,500 to 5,000 years ago. Steppe vegetation expanded across the Sahara. The region was more likely to be a lower altitude due to plate tectonics raising the region later on. Also, the majority of Plato’s description matches this region. The Younger Dryas was a period of climatic change that probably led to Atlantis’s destruction. 4. The Bermuda Triangle

There is so much mystery surrounding the Bermuda Triangle. From missing ships and planes to time travel. The stories around the Bermuda triangle begins in the time of Christopher Columbus when he reportedly saw a flame of fire crashing into the sea in the triangle during his first voyage to the New World. In 1872, 1881 and 1921 three ships Mary Celeste, Ellen Austin and Carroll A. Deering were found drifting the sea without a single soul on board.

One of the most unnerving tales is that of the Witchcraft, a 23-foot luxury yacht, which disappeared on December 22, 1967. The coast guard received a call from the captain stating that his ship had hit something, but there was no substantial damage. Indicating help to be towed to the shore, the coast guard set off immediately, reaching witchcraft in as many as 19 minutes. The area indicating the location of the ship was completely deserted. The coast guard officials searched hundreds of square miles of the ocean over the next few days but were unsuccessful. Nothing of this ship has been ever found.

In regards to time travel, on March 24, 1975, this story would appear as a brief mention in the Deseret News newspaper, as part of a multi-issue series involving the Bermuda Triangle, this one titled “Other seas, other mysteries.” National Airlines 727, during its approach to Miami International Airport, disappeared without warning. It completely vanished from radar, and all radio communications ceased. A full 10 minutes later, the plane astonishingly reappeared in the exact same location it had been. Nothing had changed, and no one on board noticed anything strange at all. “By way of an explanation, one of the air control staff said to one of the pilots, ‘Man, for 10 minutes you just did not exist.’” – The Deseret News, March 24, 1975

5. Possible Giant Shark

In 2003, scientists decided to tag a 9 foot great white shark to study temperature changes in the ocean. Weirdly, several months later, the tag’s recording of the information was found on shore. When researchers looked at the tag’s information, they were stunned. About four months after the tag was put on, the shark seemed to have dove around 1,900 feet, which suggests it was attacked and eaten by something. Most likely a cannibal great white shark. The scientists claim their new research data matched all of the tracking information from the disappeared shark: The body temperature of these migrating great whites was the same, and the size of the cannibal great white shark, which they estimated to be at least 16 foot long and weigh over 2 tons, is the smallest size shark that could easily pull off the same speed and trajectory captured in the tracking device to eat the 9 foot great white shark.

Could it be a larger great white shark? The Guinness Book of World Records listed two great white sharks as the largest individuals: In the 1870s, a 10.9 m (36 ft) great white captured in southern Australian waters, near Port Fairy, and an 11.3 meters (37 ft) shark trapped in a herring weir in New Brunswick, Canada, in the 1930s. When a scientist re-examined the jaw of the Port Fairy Shark, they discovered it could have only been 17ft. Another large shark caught was off the coast of Cuba in 1945, which allegedly weighed 7,000 pounds (3,175 kg) and was 21 feet (6.4 m) in length. Majority of Great White sharks seen after the 1930s have ranged between 20 to 23 feet. So it seems a 20 foot long great white shark would not be out of the realm of possibilities either.

Nikola Tesla: 3, 6, 9 but what about 8?

It is no secret that I like the number 8. There are a great number of possibilities with the number 8. In a prior article I wrote, I discussed similarities between DNA, The Number 8 and the Infinity Symbol. I have been looking into Nikola Tesla’s life as of late and stumbled upon the key to the universe. One of Nikola Tesla main focuses were the numbers 3, 6 and 9. Nikola Tesla has stated the following: “If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have a key to the universe.” Tesla is a genius and his calculations typically break down to the numbers 3, 6 or 9. Granted, the symbol of infinity/completion when a circle’s composition is reduced to its digital root, the results are as follows 3 + 6 + 0 = 9. However, I have noticed the number 8 does come onto the scene from time to time.

Tesla’s Invention

First, I need to provide the backdrop. Tesla filed a patent in the U.S. titled “The art of transmitting electrical energy through the natural medium”. This patent outlines designs for a series of generators around the world which would tap the ionosphere for energy collections. He saw planet Earth itself, with its two poles, as a giant electrical generator of limitless energy. His triangle-shaped design became known as Tesla’s electromagnetic pyramid. His inspiration was the Great Pyramid at Giza. The location was chosen according to the laws of where the Pyramids of Giza were built, related to the relationship between the elliptical orbit of the planet and the equator. The design was intended for wireless transmission of energy. The facilities are known as the Tesla Experimental Station in Colorado Springs and Wardenclyffe Tower or Tesla Tower on the East Coast. His devices for wireless transmission of energy disappeared after his death.

The Great Pyramid at Giza

Why did the Great Pyramid inspire Tesla? The Great Pyramid is position on latitude 30 and they are aligned to 3/60th degree of true astronomical north. The dimensions of the pyramid give you the dimensions of this planet. In other words, if you measure the base perimeter of the Great Pyramid and multiply it by forty-three thousand two hundred, you get the equatorial circumference of the earth. If you then measure the height of the Great Pyramid and multiply it by forty-three thousand two hundred, you will get the polar radius of the earth. The scale of the pyramid is defined by a key motion of the earth itself, which is precession (wobble on earth’s axis). Earth moves 1 degree every 72 years.

How does the Number 8 come into play?

The Great Pyramid in Giza is not a 4-side structure, it is actually an 8-side structure. Each of the pyramid’s four side are evenly split from base to tip by very subtle concave indentations. There are many theories as to why the Great Pyramid of Giza was built this way. I would like to throw in my hypothesis and state it has to do with the Ogdoad. In Egyptian mythology, the Ogdoad were eight primordial deities (four male/four female) worshiped in Hermopolis. References to the Ogdoad date to the Old Kingdom of Egypt, and even at the time of composition of the Pyramid Texts toward the end of the Old Kingdom.

Some text suggest that the Ogdoad are not actual deities, but paring individuals used by the God Thoth to explain how it is possible for two mating individuals to pass on generic traits and attributes. The number eight is achieved merely by determining the smallest number of cross-over combinations of the parents’ traits which would be necessary for their children to maintain variance. Basically, ancient Egyptians had a concept of modern genetics. They may also hold secrets to “hachimoji DNA”.

Another interesting thing about the number 8 is at the time of the construction of the Pyramids of Giza the pole star was Thuban. Thuban is a star located in the constellation of Draco, the eighth largest constellation in the sky. It is around 305 (3+0+5) light-years away from the Sun.

May is now upon us and it would be great to discover the more interesting aspects of the month. Below are 10 facts for May:

7. According to Time, babies born in spring score high on the hyperthymia scale, meaning they have a general sense of optimism about them.

8. People who are born in the first half of May are less likely to marry others who are born in the same period.

9. The international distress signal, “mayday,” has nothing to do with the first of May. It derives from the French venez m’aider, meaning “come help me.”

10. There is a deep notion among orthodox people that month of May is ominous for marriage life. The superstition dates back to the Romans who thought ghosts roam in the month of May.

Are you ready for April 1st? April Fool’s Day is the one day a year where people and businesses can play jovial pranks. April Fool’s Day has been to associated to several different festivals throughout history. Historians have linked April Fools’ Day to festivals such as Hilaria in ancient Rome. It involved people dressing up in disguises and mocking fellow citizens and even magistrates. France also had a type of April Fool which date back to 1582. The popular prank at that time was placing a paper fish on people’s backs and being referred to as “poisson d’avril” (April fish). In Scotland, the tradition became a two-day event, starting with “hunting the gowk,” and followed by Tailie Day, both involved pranks such as sending people on fake errands, pinning fake tails or “kick me” signs on them.

Below are 10 interesting April Fool’s Day pranks:

In 1996, the Taco Bell Corporation took out a full-page ad that appeared in six major newspapers saying that it had bought the Liberty Bell and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. The National Historic Park in Philadelphia received hundreds of outraged calls.
In 1976, the BBC convinced many listeners that a special alignment of the planets would temporarily decrease gravity on Earth. Phone lines were flooded with callers who claimed they felt the effects.
For April Fool’s Day in 1957, the BBC created a hoax in which they convinced the nation that spaghetti was grown from “spaghetti trees” in Italy and Switzerland.

As an April Fool’s Day joke, Gamestation added a clause stating that users who placed an order on April 1, 2010, agreed to irrevocably give their soul to the company. 7,500 users agreed.
Gmail first launched on April 1st, 2004. It was widely assumed the service was an April Fool’s Day joke!
In 2002, NASA posted a picture that proved the moon was made of cheese which included an expiration date.

Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde

Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde is quite the name for quite the poet, playwright and author. Saint Patrick’s Day will be upon us soon. This got me to start thinking about of the literary greats of Ireland. I conclude that Oscar Wilde is my favorite. Some of his greatest works include The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest. His wit and charm is irresistible.

Fae from Around the World

Since March is approaching, I begin to think about St. Patrick’s Day. Pots of gold, green shamrocks and of course leprechauns. I have always been curious about leprechauns and finding their gold at the end of the rainbow since I was little. Now that I am older, I have realized how clever the leprechauns truly are.

Rainbows are actually in the shape of a full circle, because the rainbow reflects the round shape of the sun. Apparently, if you use a drone, you might be able to see a circular rainbow from the sky. The reason we see the rainbow on the ground as an arch is because only part of the horizon can be seen. Since rainbows are circles there is no way a leprechaun could leave their pot of gold at the end of one. Like I said, very clever. I am eager to dive into the world of the leprechauns as well as explore Fae in other parts of the world. Let us begin!

Leprechauns

Who doesn’t want a pot of gold? The trick is getting it from a leprechaun. If you somehow manage to catch a leprechaun, he will bargain to be set free, this is typically three wishes. There is a great Disney movie based on this, Darby O’Gill and the Little People. However, my favorite legend with a leprechaun was about a young man who once was crafty enough to capture one.

There once a young man who caught a leprechaun by surprise and refused to let the leprechaun go unless he revealed where the pot of gold was hidden. The leprechaun chooses to comply with the young man since he could not figure out how to get away. He directed the young man to go into the woods. After they entered the forest, the leprechaun pointed a tree and stated the gold was buried deep underground.

The young man was over joyed, but soon realized he needed a shovel to retrieve the gold. This meant that he would need to leave the forest. The young man feared that after returning with the shovel, he might forget the exact place where the treasure was buried. He came with the idea of tying a red handkerchief around the tree so that he could recognize the spot and made the leprechaun promise not to take off the handkerchief. The young man went to fetch the digging equipment and when he returned with the gear, the leprechaun was no longer there. However, every tree in the entire forest was tied with a red handkerchief.

So, how do you recognize a leprechaun? Leprechaun’s are typically male, solitary fairies dressed in either red or green. There are tales stating they are famous cobblers who make all the fairy shoes for the fairy gentry. Leprechauns’ live-in isolated places such as under the hedgerows or in gullies. The word Leprechaun is derived from the Irish word luchorpan. This word means a person with a small body. Now onto shapeshifters in Korea.

Shapeshifters

Shapeshifters can be found around the world and are prevalent in the legends of Korea, Japan and China. Basically, any being with the ability to undergo a complete change of appearance is a Shapeshifter. Shapeshifters have been known to transform from foxes into beautiful maidens. Typically, the stories do not end well for the men, but once in a great while one of the beautiful maidens turn out to be an innocent romantic. Talk about playing the odds. Sometimes, Shapeshifters take other forms, such as snakes, cats, badgers, and raccoon dogs.

A great Korean tale involves a former magistrate of Quelpart, Kim Su-ik, lived inside of the South Gate of Seoul. He was hungry and asked his wife if she could bring him some food since he was in the middle of his studies. She let him know that they were out of food and just had seven or eight chestnuts left. Kim stated that would work and she went to the kitchen to cook them. A short time later she came back with the chestnuts and brought them in a handbasket, cooked and ready served for him. Kim loved the cooked chestnuts. His spouse sat by his desk and watched him eat.

Suddenly the door opened, and another person entered. Kim raised his eyes to see, and there was the exact duplicate of his wife, with a basket in her hand and roasted chestnuts. As he looked at both of them beneath the light the two women were perfect facsimiles of each other. The two also looked back and forth in alarm, saying, “What’s this that’s happened? Who are you?”

Kim grabbed both women by the hands and held onto them both. Finally, when morning came the women whose right hand he held, said, “Why do you hold me so? It hurts; let me go.” She shook and tugged, but Kim held all the tighter. After struggling, she fell to the floor and suddenly changed into a wild cat. Kim, in fear and surprise, let her go, and she escape through the door. Now on to the Yakshas who are prevalent in Hindu and Buddhist mythology.

Yakshas

Yakshas are nature spirits who are the custodians of treasures that are hidden in the earth and in the roots of trees who happen to have a dual personality. Sculptures of Yakshas were among the earliest of deities to be depicted, apparently preceding images of the bodhisattvas and of Brahmanical deities, whose representation they influenced. They are also the template for the attendants of gods and kings in later Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain art.

A great story of a Yaksha is Dharm-Baka Upakhyan (Legend of the Virtuous Crane). The story is about how the youngest brother discovers his brothers are dead by the lake and due to his thirst bends down to have some water. What he doesn’t know is that the lake is poisonous. Before he drinks the water, the Yaksha calls out and requests he answer 18 questions, in order to drink the water. The Yaksha asks 18 questions with philosophical and meta-physical ramifications. The youngest brother answered all the questions in a satisfactory manner, but the Yaksha only allowed him to choose one of his brothers to be restored back to life.

Evidence of Stories

I was thinking about Troy today and how at one time no one thought Troy existed. Prior to 1870, all that was known of Troy was the tale of the Trojan War, which was an epic story originally told by Homer in the Illiad and later used by Virgil in the Aeneas. The precise location and even the very existence of Troy has been a source of dispute throughout the ages. In 1865, archaeologist Frank Calvert excavated trenches into Hisarlik and found enough evidence that convince himself that he had found the correct site. Calvert relayed his findings to Heinrich Schliemann in 1868 at a dinner party, which then turned into a partnership due to Schliemann having financial means. In 1870 Schliemann began excavations at Hisarlik, under the permit which Frank Calvert had obtained for him, and with members of Calvert’s crew. After a couple of years, Schliemann was sure he had found Troy and announced it to the public, however, he deliberately left Calvert’s name out of all of his subsequent official announcements, lectures, and publications, thereby claiming the fame and glory for himself.

It fascinates me how the individuals were able to pull enough information from the Illiad and locate an ancient city. This got me to thinking about other legends and stories I have read and if there is any evidence of them today. I have listed 3 stories/legends that are linked with interesting evidence.

Parting of the Red Sea: The story in the Bible of Moses parting the Red Sea is actually a phenomenon that has occurred. Software engineer and lead study author Carl Drews discovered it wasn’t actually the Red Sea, but the Eastern Nile Delta, at a body of water called the Lake of Tanis, that did the parting. A coastal phenomenon called a “wind setdown” could have blown in from the east, pushing the water to create a storm surge in another part of the lake, but completely clearing water from the area where the wind was blowing. Drews was able to re-create weather patterns and topography utilizing computer models of the ancient system and discovered Moses would have had approximately four hours to cross the lake. A similar event has also happened to Napoleon. Napoleon crossed the Red Sea at the head of the Gulf of Suez on December 28, 1798. At low tide Napoleon and his men were trying to cross the northern end, because the receded water revealed a dry bottom on which they could ride. But they began crossing too late, and when the tide waters returned violently and swirled around them, they were almost overcome.

Rama’s Bridge: In the Indian epic of Ramayana, author Valmiki speaks of a bridge over the ocean connecting India and Sri Lanka. In the story, the bridge, also known as Adam’s Bridge, was created with floating stones so an army could cross the ocean. The existence of the bridge has been known in India as well as Sri Lanka since at least 850 AD, which was first mention by IbnKhordadbeh in his Book of Roads and Kingdoms. The sea separating the two countries has been called Sethusamudram meaning “Sea of the Bridge”. If you look at satellite photos of this region today, you will notice a faint hint of a connecting strip between the two countries. Geological evidence suggests that this bridge is a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka, made with chain of limestone shoals surrounded by a shallow sea of one-to-10 meter depth. The bridge is about 50 km long. Centuries ago, it formed an intermittent, but otherwise solid, connecting link between India and Sri Lanka. The causeway existed as late as the 15th century and was passable on foot, as per records kept at the Rameswaram temple, until it was flooded in a storm.

Turning into Stone: Petrification is a common theme in folklore and mythology, as well as in some works of modern literature. However, there is a lake in Tanzania that can turn you into “stone”. Lake Natron (salt lake) has high amounts of the chemical natron (Na2CO3•10(H2O)). The water’s alkalinity comes from the sodium carbonate and other minerals that flow into the lake from the surrounding hills. The natron content in the lake has given it a pH level of about 10.5 which is comparable to that of ammonia. The waters can also reach temperatures as high as 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Lake Natron is one of two alkaline lakes in that area of East Africa; the other is Lake Bahi. Both are terminal lakes that do not drain out to any river or sea. The lake does support an ecosystem of fish, algae and flamingos. However, if an animal dies in the lake, the petrification is not instantaneous, but does happen very quickly. The shores of this lake are covered with thousands of intact petrified bird and bat corpses. The birds appear to have been preserved almost perfectly, feathers and all. Why the birds crash into the lake is unknown. It is speculated due to the lakes glassy appearance birds become confused and think they are flying over empty space, thus accidently crashing into the lake.

He was an American statesman, conservationist, naturalist, historian, and writer, who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909. Aliens: They are Here

How do you feel about Aliens? Have you thought about the stars and galaxies of as late? Do you wonder what lifeforms are dancing about on other planets and solar systems? I was watching Men in Black and decided that is would be pretty darn cool to hang out with Aliens. But, what if I told you they were already here? According to the New York Post, Former Israeli space security chief for 30 years, Haim Eshed, stated that aliens exist and that they are choosing to remain hidden from the public. The reason being that “humanity isn’t ready” for them to reveal themselves yet. “Trump was on the verge of revealing [aliens’ existence], but the aliens in the Galactic Federation are saying, ‘Wait, let people calm down first,’” Eshed, who helmed Israel’s space security program from 1981 to 2010, reportedly stated, “They don’t want to start mass hysteria. They want to first make us sane and understanding.”

Regarding the question of why the aliens would be communicating with humanity in the first place, Eshad had an answer for that as well. “There’s an agreement between the US government and the aliens. They signed a contract with us to do experiments here. They, too, are researching and trying to understand the whole fabric of the universe, and they want us as helpers.”

He is not the only individual in the space industry to claim we have had contact with Aliens. Numerous individuals from a company called Lockheed over the years have claimed to work with Alien technology or have come in contact with Aliens. Lockheed is actually the Lockheed Martin Corporation. It is an American aerospace, defense, arms, security, and advanced technologies company with worldwide interests. Ben Rich, the “Father of the Stealth Fighter-Bomber” and former head of Lockheed Skunk Works, had once leaked information about Extraterrestrial UFO Visitors are real and the U.S. Military Travel to the Stars. He also publicly stated that “We now have the technology to take ET home.”

According to Jack Brewster from Forbes, the US Pentagon in 2020, formally released three unclassified videos taken by US Navy pilots of “unidentified aerial phenomena,” a step that comes after years of progress towards government transparency surrounding unidentified flying objects. The videos, which were first published by the New York Times in 2017, show fast-moving oblong objects racing through the sky and a pilot, in one video yelling, “Look at that thing, dude — it’s rotating!”. Following the 2017 Times report, the US Navy formalized a process allowing pilots to report encounters with aerial phenomena; in 2019, the US Navy confirmed an uptick in UFO sightings.

US Senator Harry Reid tweeted:

“I’m glad the Pentagon is finally releasing this footage, but it only scratches the surface of research and materials available. The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. The American people deserve to be informed.”

I figure that since the Aliens have been living among us all these years, it would be great if we can have more interaction with them. Who knows, maybe in 20 years parents will be asking their kids if they want to join a Starfleet Academy.
